Catching up and May 2009

How has it been that I haven't written since April?!? Crazy busy I guess. I'm going to do several posts (by month) to update so I'm not writing one humongous post!

So here we go...
At the beginning of May, Erin's husband Curtis went back to Iraq. Before he left we all had dinner together and took this picture. It's rare that we are all in a picture, so I thought I would share it.

May 8th was my first official Mothers day! Last year I did really feel like a mom yet (just a huge blimp!) What a difference a year makes.

We went to my parents house and Dan's parents to celebrate. It was a long day but full of fun and family.

In mid-May I went with my mom to visit some family in Oklahoma and Missouri. She was driving out to pick up some of my grandfathers stuff from Irene's family. Irene passed away in December and had some stuff she wanted my family to have of my grandfathers. I decided on sort of a whim to fly out with Luke and join her. Luke's first plane trip went very smoothly, even with delays in both directions. People are generally so nice when you are travelling alone with a baby. I got to skip the whole security line in Albuquerque!

We got to meet up with some of my cousins and one of their kids. It was so crazy to see our kids hanging out together. Bridgette gave Luke a Precious Moments teddy bear and he loves it. It recites a little bedtime prayer and he smiles and hugs it every time.

Overall it was a great trip and made me feel much better about traveling with a baby. I was very nervous!

We also went to an Isotopes game with Mollie, Brad, Lydon and Nolyn. They invited us to join them in a suite at the game and it was so fun! The babies had room to crawl around and play and we got to enjoy the game.

Our last big event of May was my mom's birthday. We all went to the zoo. It was Luke's first trip and he wasn't too interested. I think it was too close to nap time and too crowded. We all had fun though and got a few good pictures.

Ok - Well that turned into a very long post anyhow. I guess I now see why I haven't had much time to blog!

On to June...
